Manufacturing Services

Tech-Way Industries has the capacity, expertise, and equipment to manufacture your plastic or metal parts. Through continuous plant expansion, we are currently a 90,000 square foot facility including a climate controlled clean room.

Low / High Volume Molding

In many cases, plastic molding production is not restricted to high volumes (100,000 parts or more), but rather, we often do production in quantities of 100 or less.  Tech-Way has the experience and capability to handle all volumes of molded components, down to, and including 1 part at a time. 

Specialized Experience. For example, molding clear polycarbonate over colored polycarbonate is difficult to do because it runs at such a high temperature that it instantly wants to melt over the other plastic and tends to want to fog and look like smoked glass.

This molding process requires custom-made specialized expertise and equipment to make it clear. If you choose this process, the benefits are that it doesn't rub off and does not require printing.

Case Study: One of our customers makes a machine used in a medical lab that runs medical tests on blood samples. They don't sell a lot of these machines because it is brand new to the industry (high dollar) and they just need a couple parts to manufacture the systems.

Small Parts

Small parts and micromolded parts are typical products at Tech-Way Industries.  We manufacture a wide variety of micro sized parts in a variety of materials. This is possible because of our experienced personnel and standard and custom processing equipment.

Case Study: A lot of the small parts we make are for the medical industry - nobody wants a bigger hole cut into them than they have to have. Some of the parts are smaller than a pencil point and go on the end of the tip of a device that has the optical fiber that allows the surgeon to look up your vein.

Two-Stage Rotary Overmolding of Plastics

Tech-Way has long been a manufacturer of two-component parts (an example would be a toothbrush with both hard plastic and softer plastic molded together), including insert molding and multiple material molding.  We presently have three ‘two material’ custom built presses, in and out of our clean room for your manufacturing requirements.

Finishing Operations / Secondary Operations

Finishing operations include CNC Milling and turning, Pad Printing, hot stamping, part painting, precision fitting and plastic parts assembly, etc.

Pad printing. Using a decorative printing process with pad and ink, we have the capability to put any artwork desired onto oddly shaped parts (i.e. does not have to be flat). This might be decorative or instructional (e.g. push here, speaker, etc.)

CNC Milling & Turning. Using a two-step process, we first mold CAMS and then precision machine the inside to make a perfect CAM to get the other pieces to flow and work off the timing.

CASE STUDY: We mold precision CAMS, however the molding process often is incapable of the tolerances needed, so afterwards, we set it up on a CNC machine and mill the CAM surface to exacting tolerances so that the movement of the unit is timed out perfectly.

This particular example goes into industrial precision meat slicers. This technology could also be used for the automotive industry, appliance parts, aerospace, medical, or any industry that needs mechanical parts.

LEAN Manufacturing Techniques for Improved Quality

The goal with LEAN manufacturing is to cut out unneeded steps, whenever possible, to save money by improving efficiency and eliminating material waste (in addition to not filling landfills with unneeded waste). We've been doing this since 1964 - that's one way that we successfully compete on the world market.

Production Assembly

We provide production assembly services of mechanical parts.

Benefits: This can save you labor hours and inventory space (e.g. you do not have to inventory multiple parts for inventory, instead just inventory the one part).

Overmolding

We provide overmolding services for electrical circuit boards and components. One example is a memory stick that has the metal part with a plastic handle and an internal circuit board -- we can do the overmolding to make this.

In-House Customer Inventory Stocking

We work with customers' KanBan and other inventory stocking programs.
